In light of recent news highlighting the challenges faced by child actors in the entertainment industry, “Everyone Asked About You” delves into the darker undercurrents of the industry, shedding light on the vulnerabilities and pressures that young talents may encounter. Production has begun in Los Angeles for a target release date of spring 2025.
Inspired by filmmakers Jean-Luc Godard and Michelangelo Antonioni, the upcoming feature-length, scripted drama weaves a compelling narrative centered around a former child star Simone (Rachel Bailit) navigating the treacherous waters of her adult career. As she grapples with the challenges of fame, relationships, and personal identity, her longtime producing partner and boyfriend Jack (John Lacy) thrusts her into a compromising position that sets the stage for a gripping tale of survival in the unforgiving landscape of Hollywood. The flashback bungalow scenes will unfold in timeless black-and-white, while current day moments are shown in brilliant color.
With Rachel Bailit (“Desperate Housewives” and “General Hospital”) delivering a captivating performance at the forefront, and under the expert guidance of a production team led by John Lacy (“Joker: Folie à Deux” and “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace”) as well as Ursula Rudorfer, and Denis Maloney ASC, “Everyone Asked About You” promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the price of fame and the lengths one will go to survive in a cutthroat world where dreams and realities collide. Additional cast members include Mike Wiles (David Fincher’s “Fight Club,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Magnolia” and Stephen Spielberg’s “A.I.” as well as “Breaking Bad” and “Sons of Anarchy”) as Elias, Patrick Gallagher (“Glee,” “Night at the Museum” and “Joe Pickett”) as RJ, Werner Daehn (“Das Boot”) as Gunther, Brea Bee (“The Goldbergs” and “Silver Linings Playbook”) as Bethany, Khrystyne Haje (“Head of the Class”) as Rebecca and Henry Jaglom (“Last Summer in the Hamptons”) as Henri. Plus, California State Treasurer Fiona Ma makes a cameo.
